A note from a master

June 3rd, 2007 by ezwanhamdi

I was doing some cleaning and packing today and I found a note written for me in 2004 by one of the millionaire sisters, Elynn Hanif.
The youngest Group Agency Manager in CIMB Wealth Advisors Berhad,
in fact, in the whole Malaysia’s unit trusts industry, together with
her elder sister, Akmar Hanif, and the company’s youngest Brand
Ambassador, Mahadi BZ, was responsible to introduce, train and guide
me and many other aspired millionaires on how to use the law of
attraction to be able to earn 5-to-6-figure income a month & become
successful in unit trusts business through Platinum Wealth Advisors agency.
I
thought of sharing this note with those who’ve been reading my blog, as
it is one of the most powerful notes I’ve ever received in my life. A
life changing reminder from a highly established and accomplished guru.
Hopefully, this note can be an inspiration to all of you, as well.
Cheers :)

"You see, we are all
ordinary. But a master rather than condemning him/herself for his/her
"ordinaries", will embrace it and use it as a foundation for building
the extraordinary. Rather than using it for excuse for inactivity,
he/she will use it as a vehicle for correcting, which is essential in
the process of attaining mastery. You must be able to correct yourself
without invalidating or condemning yourself, to accept results and
improve upon them. Correct, don’t protect. Correction is essential to
power and mastery.

Elynn Hanif"

My Near Death Experience

March 20th, 2007 by ezwanhamdi

Yup, I had one last Monday night.. I was cruising in my Merc with John Legend’s Once Again album playing, on my way home from my weekly futsal ritual.. No rush whatsoever..
At around 1am, suddenly the rain poured heavily when I reached Hartamas area..
Then, as I was proceeding towards Jalan Duta, it happened..

I drove into a small pool of water, then the car skidded n swerved to the left.. my mistake was I applied the brake.. at that moment I realized my car was moving towards a motorcyclist, so I forced the car to the right.. saved that mat motor’s ass and now I’m moving towards the concrete divider.. a quick flashback of my whole life suddenly playing in my mind.. I was thinking, "Ya Allah, please this is not the time.."I snapped out of it and pulled the steering wheel to the left again, hurt my right hand in the process.. Then, my car hit the concrete divider and stopped.. I quickly turned the hazard lights on, had a long pause, trying to reflect on what had just happened..

I went to hospital, had my hand Xrayed, 2 of my bones fractured.. I’m grateful because I’m still alive.. I didn’t kill anyone, even there’s no scratch on my car..

Alhamdulillah..

What a weekend!!!

January 29th, 2007 by ezwanhamdi

I just had a hell of a music weekend.. No words can desribe the excitement that i had, which explains why it took a one-day-break for me to actually wake up to reality and start writing this blog..

All of it actually started the weekend before, when a bunch of friends went for TV3’s Gang Starz audition on 21st January 2007@Berjaya Times Square,KL.. Almost all of them were selected to go through the next round.. However, there’s one particular vocal group that captured the hearts of not only the judges, namely Pot Innuendo, Juliza Adlizan, and Azmeer, but all of the people who’re there listening to their audition.. by the time they finished singing their two songs, everybody was cheering and clapping because they’re really entertained by the group’s performance.. yeah, the outstanding vocal group is called INFINATEZ.. this group is so special not only because they can sing and harmonize very, very well, but they also write their own songs.. They even appeared in last Thursday’s Kosmo.. I tell y’all, these guys must be the next Gang Starz!! Get ready to vote for them, because they’ll surely be one of the finalist who’ll represent Malaysia soon, and I guarantee y’all that these fellas will make us Malaysians proud!!!
check out INFINATEZ’s myspace here and blog here..
one of INFINATEZ’s talented group members, Alvin Mahathir Yunus, was my fourvoices groupmate before he started making songs and then offered to join INFINATEZ, making the line-up so superb now.. this fella rocks, y’all..
check out Alvin’s myspace here and blog here..
So, I went to support them@Berjaya Times Square, but I was late and missed their audition :(

yes, everything I said earlier was based on hear-say, not until 26th January 2007 (last Friday night) during Layar Tanchap Kolaborasi@Galeri Seni Shah Alam..
yeah, Layar Tanchap,  is a special monthly open-mic event where anyone can perform or showcase their arts be it singing, playing musical instruments, poetry-reading, painting, monologue, etc.. and the admission is free.. I can say that it was one of the best Layar Tanchap I’ve ever attended because of so many reasons:
The location is strategic enough to draw lots of art/music-loving crowd, who came mostly from Shah Alam and Klang Valley;
The line-up of performers that night was among the best ever! The likes of our independent acts, namely Hujan, Najwa Mahiaddin, and INFINATEZ, simply stole the show..not to forget two acts from Singapore, Lady E and Imran Ajmain, who also made their appearance with their own style of music..check out for Imran’s song in Anuar Zain’s coming album..this guy rocks!
All in all, I must say that it was INFINATEZ who made a really swift-but-very-effective presence in Layar Tanchap Kolaborasi..They performed the very same two songs they sang during Gang Starz audition, and they’ve shown to everyone that night why they earn their way to the next round and even last Thursday’s Kosmo newspaper..

Yeah, Layar Tanchap Kolaborasi rocks! But not as HARD and ICE-COLD as BoyzIIMen Concert @ Genting’s Arena of Starz..This was the peak of my musical weekend..I went there on 27th January 2007, got the best seat I can get, PS1 at Early Bird’s rate.. just behind the VIPs.. It’s BoyzIIMen! I’ll pay, even if the ticket price is RM5,000/= ahaha.. no la, kidding only :)
Lots of Malaysian celebrities were there too.. It was a blast!! I’ve met lots of familiar faces as well.. The ladies went crazy, especially when Nate started giving out fresh roses.. The performance was so superb, I even dropped a few tears in awe!! Shawn, Nate, and Wanya, you guys are the best!! Your vocals, showmanship, crazy phenomenal!! Like I said before, no words can describe it!!
Pengalaman yang x dapat saya lupakan:
Went to Boyz II Men Concert, 27th January 2007, Genting’s Arena of Stars..

I just wish they can prolong the concert.. Time flies really fast.. At the first interval, the fellas have been singing for more than an hour, but it felt like they’ve just started..That’s how awesome Boyz II Men are.. After the show, I stayed in the Arena with my wify Sue, Rizale of MyUrban.net, Quadrose, Hearts of Men, Defoo of SoulDelite.com and INFINATEZ.. Then, suddenly a small crowd cheered and there they are, Boyz II Men came out and said good bye for the last time.. We managed to shake hands and take some pictures with all three of them!! And that, my friends who’re reading this blog religiously up to this point, is priceless :)
I’ve paid for everything, the concert tickets, the petrol, the toll, the MyUrban.net t-shirt, the Theme Park Hotel room.. All of that cannot amount to the experience I’ve endured that night.. Truly PRICELESS.. No words can describe.. I’m really² satisfied now :)

What a weekend…

Spread love :)

The Fall of The Truthful

December 13th, 2006 by ezwanhamdi

All the scholars agree that the time of Muhammad SAW and the early
Khalifah ArRashideen’s is the time of the Ideal Islamic Society.
Miracles
of human nature
were seen everywhere. It had never happened before a large number of
people with such a character been together as a group. The numerous

accounts confirmed this time as a ‘Golden Age’ when an ideal society
based on the Tauhid’s philosophy existed. The philosophy of One God.

But
the society began to crumble as early as the reign of the third Caliph,
Uthman RA. Cracks began to appear in the solid foundation left by
Muhammad SAW. Many scholars have tried to explain the phenomena.
Numerous studies have been carried throughout the ages. The most famous
of the philosopher of History, Ibnu Khaldun had contributed a large
portion of the modern understanding of the collapse of the ideal
society.

On
hijrah, the core group of Muslims who emigrated to Madinah consists of
70+ men and women. This group of people has been through 13 years of
tarbiyyah (learning of the Deen) in Makkah, and has undergone terrible
trials and tribulations. Their faith has become firm and matured. They
were willing to forsake their wealth, family and kin, and their
homeland and went to an unknown place with no guarantee of safety and
peace just for the sake of protecting their belief.

There
in Madinah, with the concept of brotherhood in Islam, they were mixed
around with the Ansar. The Ansar were recent converts, they had only
learnt the Deen through Musab ibnu Umair, a year before. But their rate
of picking up the faith was astoundingly quick, due to close contact
with Muhammad and the inner circle of Sahabah. Just after two years,
they were ready for their first test, the Battle of Badr where the
Muslims were outnumbered 3 to 1.

In Madinah, the number of Muslims began to rise quickly. From 313 men during the battle of Badr (2nd after hijrah) their number swelled to 2000 during the battle of Khandaq(5th hijrah), 10,000 during Fathul Makkah, the opening of Makkah on the 8th hijrah. During the Hijjatul Wida’ or Farewell Hajj (10th
Hijrah), Muhammad gave a famous sermon which proclaimed the Message to
mankind which had been entrusted to him by God was finally complete.

This
day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon
you, and have chosen Islam as your deen. (Surah al-Maidah:3)

During the gathering at Arafah, 30,000 people were present.

The
number of Muslims rose rapidly, at the end of the reign of Uthman (34th
hijrah), the Muslim empire stretched from the Iran in the east to Egypt
in the west, covering about 2500k square miles. It was estimated the
number of Muslims at the time was 300,000. While the sahabah,
classified as those who were with Muhammad during the Fathul Makkah is
only 10,000, and the number has diminished even more with the constant
Jihad, and old ages.

The
rapid expansion of Islam backfired as there were simply not enough
teachers (Muslim who understand the Deen) to guide the new converts to
Islam. They lacked the proper tarbiyyah and
guidance unlike the sahabah who were taught Islam by Muhammad SAW, who
had received direct revelations from God Himself. As a result, they
still have within themselves the ‘jahilliyyah’ concept of assabiyyah
(or semangat kesukuan, which in today’s term known as nationalism). The
spirit of Islam which focuses not on this world but on the hereafter
has not been fully grasped by them.

To
them, Islam is merely another religion as what they have had before.
Before, they had prayed to the idols of the Kaabah, Latta,Uzza and
Manat. Now, they just changed the many gods to Allah, the One God. If
before they had to follow a set of rules set by traditions and the
powerful kabilah leader, now they have to obey another set of rules
called the Syaria’. The fact that the rules were different make no
point as to the untaught and simple Beduoin of Arabia, rules are still
rules. Even though the new converts proclaimed themselves as Muslim,
they lacked the roh and the spirit of tauhid, which is central to the
understanding of the Deen.

It
was not surprising then during the reign of Uthman, and Ali RA,
internal strife and conflicts began to rock the Muslim Empire. It
ultimately ended up in the battle of Siffin on the 37th
hijrah when the truthful Ali RA was defeated not on the battlefield,
but on the discussion table by Muawiyyah RA. Thus the reign of the
rightly guided khalifah ended, and began the age of kings and kingdoms
of Islam. When the Khalifah was not chosen by public opinion based on
the concept of faith, but on the trait of blood.

When
Ali RA was asked why during the reign of Abu Bakar and Umar RA, why
there no internal strife and wars unlike his time, he answered back
“Abu Bakar and Umar have people like me, while I have people like you”.
Majority of the Muslim at the time were just Muslim in names, but not
in the spirit and in the heart.

Yes
we were that far from the Prophet’s time. The ideal society, where
justice is uphold, human rights to speak was respected, the rich and
the poor has the same standing. Mus’ab ibnu Umair who was rich, good
looking and descended from a noble Quraishy’s family was considered as
equal with Bilal ibn Rabbah who was a negro from
Africa , a slave and did not own anything. Umar ibnu Khattab RA, the
Caliph who owned half of the land and riches of the known world of the
time, was living like the poorest his citizen. To many, it is only in
theory that such a Utopia society can exist. But history has proved
that it is not impossible.

We
have all the necessary resources to develop it. Muhammad SAW was only
given al-Quran, and a group of barbaric people, who might be at the
time the worst group of people on earth. There was no account from
anywhere in the history of mankind that a father is willing to kill his
own flesh and blood just for the sake that the child is a girl. Now, in
our time we have access to every single revelations that Muhammad had
received from God, couple with all his teachings and sayings in Sahih
Bukhari, and Muslim. With the technology that existed today, we could
reach every home on earth without even drawing a drop of blood.
Compared this to Muhammad SAW’s time, in order to preach Islam to the
people of Persia , and Roman, he has to wage costly war against hem.

The
only thing that is lacking in our time is the people like Abu Bakr,
Umar, and all the sahabah. Hassan Al-Banna, who many people considered
to be the Revivalist of Islam in the 20th century was
reported once said “ If I can have 12,000 youth which understand the
Deen, I can bring you the land after the mountains and beyond it” ( He
was referring to the mountains of Sinai and beyond, which means the
world). The problem with Muslims now days is the same as the problem of
Muslim during Uthman, and Ali time. We proclaim we are Muslim, but
treated our deen as part time, meaning we only attend to its obligation
after all other jobs are done. We go to mosque every Hari Raya to
celebrate the day, but on a normal day we never set our feet there.
Deep in our heart, we will cringe every time we heard on news that a
Palestinian was killed by the Jewish Regime, yet we do not contribute a
single cent to their struggle.

We are Muslim in name only, but not in the heart and in our actions.

The
key to Islam lies in understanding Tauhid, the message of One God. And
there is no instant button to comprehend it except by undergoing the
same process undergone by the sahabah during the early formation period
in Makkah. They struggled to hold tightly something that they believed
is the truth. The secret of Islam lies in front of us. They are books
on the deen, small classes or usrah where the Deen is taught, courses
in schools and universities where the Ulama’ teaches the religion.
Unlike the sahabah who have to face with every possible hardship, we
are free to learn the truth about this world, and the Creator.

"Read, in the Name of your Lord Who Created-

Created mankind from something which clings;

Read! And your Lord is the Most Noble;

Who taught by the pen;

Taught mankind what he did not know;"

Surah al-Alaq, 1-5

Do you ever wonder why in the first revelations to Muhammad, God asked him to read while he is illiterate? Let’s find it out..

Kuat..

August 22nd, 2006 by ezwanhamdi

Bismillaahirrahmaanirrahiiim..

2.
Semua orang sedih, pengganas Israel membedil
Lubnan. Palestin terus dipijak-pijak. Umat Islam hanya mampu melihat.
Kutuk. Demo. Persidangan. Meeting.

3.
Semua umat Islam marah, apabila orang bukan

bangsa Yahudilah yang cuba membunuh Nabi Isa A.S.

4.
Tapi tuan-tuan, umat Islam hanya dipijak-pijak sekiranya kita lemah.

kita semua mampu memenuhkan ruang masjid setiap kali waktu bersolat,
khususnya di waktu Subuh, umpama solat Jumaat. Melimpahnya jemaah
umpama solat dua hari raya.

panjang kira bicaranya;

tempoh kepada mereka sedikit masa;

[20] Sesungguhnya Tuhanmu (wahai Muhammad) mengetahui bahawasanya
Allah; sesungguhnya Allah Maha Pengampun, lagi Maha Mengasihani.

al-Muzammil: 1-20

6.
